Their <a class="mw-redirect" title="Mission" href="http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Mission">mission</a> is &#8220;to provide educational opportunities for the world&#8217;s poorest children by providing each child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop with content and software designed for collaborative, joyful, self-empowered learning.&#8221;</p>
<p>We at Backyard Brains share their vision, and have offered to help by creating low-cost equipment so children can learn about biology. We have called our effort &#8220;One Cockroach Per Laptop (OCPL)&#8221; in a tounge-in-cheek nod to our parent project.</p>
